Our Manager Trainee Program is designed to help you learn our business from the ground up. You will gain knowledge and experience of all aspects of our company within a 24 month period. As a Manager Trainee, you will be paired with an experienced mentor who will guide you through the career path within Group 1 Automotive.
Working at the core of the business will ensure that you truly understand the goals, needs and concerns of the people and departments you may ultimately manage one day. What are the program qualifications?
We are looking for highly motivated, hardworking individuals who take initiative, work well within a team and possess leadership skills.
- Must have a 4-year degree preferably in business
- Prior retail, hospitality or customer-facing experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license in the state where you will work and a good driving record
How are Manager Trainees paid?
Full-time Manager Trainees will start as salaried employees. This program is 24 months depending on individual performance.
Why are you looking for employees with 4-year degrees to sell cars?
Group 1 Automotive does much more than just sell cars; it is a big business in a large market segment. This program will allow employees to see all aspects of our business from the ground up. Going into this program Manager Trainees will need effective business, leadership, and critical thinking skills to succeed.
How many locations does Group 1 Automotive have and is relocation possible?
Group 1 owns and operates over 170 automotive dealerships and more than 40 collision centers in the United States, United Kingdom and Brazil. This program offers starting positions in selected locations with the opportunities to relocate as positions become available following completion of the program.
