Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager, Payroll is responsible for overseeing and executing the payroll function, ensuring that payroll is processed accurately, on-time, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. This includes working with internal and external parties to ensure proper configuration and interfaces between Paylocity and CDK, Time and Attendance, and Benefit systems.

  • Responsible for the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of the weekly, bi-weekly and simi-monthly payroll for employees.
  • Maintain the payroll system to achieve alignment with the HR and Benefit systems.
  • Responsible for all aspects of all Payroll function including collecting, verifying, and processing of payroll, new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and garnishments.
  • Interact with individual employees at all levels on payroll matters (i.e., withholding calculations, general payroll questions, available vacation, errors on checks, etc.)
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of payroll database
  • Hiring, training, developing and supervising payroll staff
  • Preparing accruals and reconciling to the general ledger
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains payroll staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience with Paylocity/ADP or other systems timekeeping
  • Previous payroll experience, 5 + years
  • Proven supervisor experience, 5 + years direct supervisory experience
  • Must be detailed oriented and strive for perfection.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
