Houston-based Group 1 Automotive, Inc., an international, Fortune 300 automotive retailer and a leading operator in the automotive retailing industry, is seeking an experienced field Human Resources Manager. This is a key Human Resources position to help support our eight Massachusetts and New Hampshire retail automotive operations. Working closely with the market director of operations and the dealership general managers, this position will directly support over 700 Group 1 employees based in the Massachusetts and New Hampshire market.

Responsible to examine and resolve employee relation issues or employee concerns.
Annually review and make recommendations for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices related to personnel matters.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure company’s compliance.
Responsible for compliance with all Federal and State legislation pertaining to human resource matters (EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.).
Coordinate with Corporate HR staff on matters related to benefits, employee communication and compliance and understanding.
Communicate changes in market human resources benefits, policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Assist management in the review and administration of wage and salary programs/pay plans.
Coordinate electronic exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
Consult with outside legal counsel as appropriate on human resources matters.
Work directly with department/general managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities related to all human resources issues.
Recommend, evaluate, and participate in orientations, employee onboarding, trainings and personnel development for the market.
Maintain human resources information system (HRIS) records within the system (Paylocity).
Coordinate safety, worker’s compensation and unemployment programs within the market.
Supervise the activities of the market human resources team to include assignments, evaluation and development of staff.
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Prefer a SHRM or HRCI Certification or the desire to attain
Prefer four to six years of verifiable HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
General knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration
Knowledge of all aspects of personnel management and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other staff members
Experience in responding to complex inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Ability to write effectively and work proficiently within MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Limited travel to the Massachusetts/New Hampshire dealerships, departmental meetings or training sessions as required
