Overview

Group 1 Automotive is hiring a full-time Benefits Coordinator at our corporate office in West Houston in the Memorial City area.  This position provides administrative support for the day-to-day operations of all group benefits programs including but not limited to; group health, dental, vision, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, flexible spending, and other plans. Responsibilities

  • Research and resolve benefits related issues.
  • Provide support to help ensure that all benefits programs are aligned with corporate and HR strategies and in compliance with Federal laws.
  • Audit all benefit plans to ensure compliance and timely payments to vendors.
  • Maintain/Update enrollment documents/materials and SPDs.
  • Prepare correspondence, expense reports, presentations and spreadsheets; edits for punctuation and grammar; coordinate & process all mail merge projects.
  • Manage general queries and complaints on the phone, by email or in person, requiring a good understanding of company operations, policies, procedure and personnel.
  • Investigate claim issues and facilitate claim resolution with employees and carriers.
  • Process medical support orders
  • Maintains information on company Benefits Intranet site.
  • Coordinates and assists during acquisitions.
  • Primary contact for wellness initiatives
  • Assist management in identifying opportunities for continual process improvement.
  • Involved in major projects such as Open Enrollment, system conversions and Plan updates.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Benefits experienced preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals
  • Good problem solving, planning, organizational and prioritization skills
